Dinner at Tabule

For our Winterlicious dinner we’ve chosen Tabule, a Middle Eastern Restaurant located at 2009 Yonge Street just a walking distance south of Eglinton Avenue or north of Davisville Avenue. This small spaced restaurant will give you the satisfaction of Middle Eastern cuisine that you are craving for. As my boyfriend and I are from different races; I was born and raised in the Philippines who came here to Canada 7 years ago and my boyfriend’s background is Jamaican but was born and raised here, you can really tell that we have distinct taste buds and we love trying different kinds of dishes from different cultures.

When we walked in to the restaurant the first thing we’ve noticed is the small location that they have, it kind of feels like you are cramped in a small tight space. And also because of the Winterlicious event it is busy and loud from all the patrons who are trying their food for the first time or enjoying their 100th time at Tabule.

Look how cute their menus are. I really love the font for some reason.

For appetizer:
Flash fried cauliflower finished with a touch of tahini and flat breads

Combination plate that includes hummus, babaganuj, tabule and falafel

For our main entrees:

Beef
two skewers of beef fillets with roasted mixed vegetables and rice with onion

Tawuk (not pictured)
Two skewers of Mennonite farm raised marinated chicken breast

For dessert
The boyfriend and I both got ice cream, I wanted the gelato but apparently they don’t have it at that time or it wasn’t set to be served to the customers (it’s one or the other). I was a little bit disappointed when they brought my mango ice cream to our table, as I was eating it I saw a piece of tin foil, luckily I saw it or else or would’ve eaten it. I brought it to their attention they apologize saying that my ice cream was the last scoop from the tub it might’ve caught the tin foil covering it and got a new scoop of ice cream. But in my mind they should’ve checked it first before serving it to the customers.

But despite of the little incident that I experienced at Tabule, which I don’t really see as bad as it might have sound, we had a nice dinner. I would go there again and dine along with my family and/or friends.

Oh before I forget they do have bellydancer too while we were at the restaurant. Too bad for my boyfriend he was sitting his back towards the dancer so he didn’t really see her..
